The Austin Air HealthMate Plus uses a large particle pre-filter to capture visible particles such as hair and dust. Its Permafilt pre-filter then removes medium to small particles. The activated Carbon and Zeolite impregnated with Potassium Iodide and the medical HEPA cloth creates a 4 inch thick filter that removes almost all dangerous particles larger than 0.3 microns.
